Rock the CUMBIA MACHIN!

Cumbia Machin is a DJ, producer, and live electronic music project created by Joaquin Hernandez in San Diego, California. Launched in 2010, the project was born out of Joaquin's determination to reinvent his approach to drumming after being diagnosed with focal dystonia—a neurological condition that impaired his ability to hold drumsticks. Adapting to the challenge, he turned to the Zendrum, a MIDI controller that allows him to perform electronic drums using his fingers.

With drumming roots going back to 1985, Joaquin brings decades of experience to Cumbia Machin, having toured nationally and internationally with bands across a wide range of genres, including metal, punk rock, reggae, and salsa.
